At 9.30am on Saturday December 4, the five members of Oneida, their Secret Project Robot visuals crew, stage manager Kyle Hepp and Jagjaguwar’s UK publicist/merch monkey entered the Crazy Horse venue at Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead to set up the second Oneida Presents The Ocropolis at All Tomorrow’s Parties.

The first took place in September 2009 at the New York ATP curated by The Flaming Lips; this time the O’s gracious hosts were Godspeed You! Black Emperor. For a full explanation, please see the festival’s official billing and programme notes. In shorthand: that’s a continuous 10 hour jam, folks! Aided by assorted musical guests, SPR’s killer light show and gear borrowed off Portishead (thank you Mr Barrow and the staff of ATP).

The following ‘tweetline’ (all timings approximate) describes the action, compiled from various twitter updates.  All that and video of the performance after the jump!

Pre-Order WILDERNESS’ New Album (k)no(w)here And THE DEAD C Reissues

With the upcoming release of (k)no(w)here, the third full-length from WILDERNESS, Jagjaguwar continues to be profoundly inspired. The unconventional band from Baltimore, Maryland have seemed to eschew the more standard paths to releasing and promoting music, but their focus has always been on the creation and performance of their musical works. More than most, Wilderness hold true to the idealistic notion that sometimes music and art can stand for itself.

New Zealand’s THE DEAD C (Michael Morley, Bruce Russell and Robbie Yeats) have continually made the most crushing, expansive and intelligent rock noise ever to be heard. Just a glance at their peers who are fans (Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Comets On Fire, Black Dice) shows the league in which they play. Jagjaguwar and Ba Da Bing Records are proud to be reissuing DR503 and The Sunstabbed EP together as one double LP, as well as Eusa Kills and Helen Said This as one double LP. Both double LPs are packaged in a gorgeous, litho-wrapped gatefold jacket.

These new releases are due out on 11/04, but you can pre-order them now HERE
